Lewis Ncube is the Africa Chess Confederation President following elections in Batumi, Georgia on Wednesday, 3 October 2018. These elections were held a few hours after the FIDE Elections where Arkady Dvokorvic was elected president. Ncube won the vote 23-21. By winning the election, Ncube retained his presidency at the helm of ACC .

Just as with the FIDE elections, it was also initially a 3 horse race with Lewis Ncube of Zambia, Tshepo Sitale of Botswana and Dr Essoh Essis of Ivory Coast. Tshepo  stepped down in his speech and gave his support to Dr Essis. However that endorsement was not enough to prevent Mr Ncube from winning the Presidency. What an interesting turn of events in both the FIDE and ACC elections whether there were a lot of developments right up to the last hour of developments.

The elections in the Africa Chess Confederation now had 2 Presidential Candidates who both supported the new FIDE President Arkady Dvokorvic but Lewis Ncube would be the one to prevail and retain his position as President of ACC.

Here are a few pictures from the ACC elections.
