Innovative online course provider, Blue Frontier Path is hosting an over-the-board (OTB) chess tournament this coming weekend 16-07-2022. LAUNCHING CHESS Tournament will be held at the Fleisherei Bistro restaurant in Centurion, Pretoria under the watchful experienced eye of tournament director IA Marius Ferreira & Assistant Tournament Director, Nick Nthite.
Mpho Mathekga of Blue Frontier Path, said the tournament is named LAUNCHING CHESS because they as Blue Frontier Path plan to have many more Chess events in the near future with this being their maiden event. With a guaranteed prize fund of R5 000 for the A-section alone, a total of 6 sections (A-F) are arranged for the day based on ratings and age but limited number of participants due to capacity of the venue.
With the ongoing SA Open currently in the Western Cape, most big players are not available to play which gives many players who fear such players to come participate! Confirmed participation, besides the local players, is from players as far as the Limpopo province and the Free state.
