Mark Dvoretsky was a Russian International Master, trainer and writer. But eclipsing his international master title, was his training ability. Along the way, he found his purpose in chess writing and training, compiling scores of chess books and videos that has helped a lot of people all over the world, even disadvantaged youths from 3rd world countries with books that have produced masters. Another great writer and trainer is American Grandmaster Roman Dzindzichashvilli, whose works have also been far reaching.
Somebody said living without a purpose is mere existing. The great teacher from the Bahamas, Dr Myles Munroe, said “The greatest tragedy is not death, but life without a purpose”. And another, “When you do not know the purpose of a thing, abuse of it is inevitable”. As you live out your life on earth, make sure you know your purpose.
A man of purpose is a dangerous man, worthy to be followed. If you know your purpose, the rest of the things flow easily. You can get the right job, you can find the right life partner that will help you ensure that you fulfill your purpose. An decision making becomes easy.
Men of purpose know exactly what they are doing, and are bent to achieve it. They even speak in line with their purpose. For example: Martin Luther King was famous for the words: “I have a dream”.
Myles Munroe was always talking about “The Kingdom”. Preaching the kingdom was his central call. Nelson Mandela was always talking about “freedom”. He was a man with such a strong sense of purpose that when he rose into power, he forgave the very people that had imprisoned him for twenty seven (27) years. Like Biblical Character Joseph, who also understood that his purpose was to save his brothers and not tear down the family for them selling him to slavery. ” You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good”, was Joseph’s response.
“When I got out of prison, I realized that if I don’t forgive them, and be bitter with them, they will have me for the rest of my life. I am free because I forgave them”, Mandela.
Both of them show great understanding of their purpose.
Also Kenyan “Hand_on_the_deck” is always talking about: “Spreading the love of chess”
To those that know German Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, you cannot speak to him for 15 minutes without him saying: “Hell empty, heaven full”…then you were not speaking to Bonnke. His purpose revolves around evangelism.
Purpose is not only preaching. You can be of any profession, and God can use you in your profession. You can be a chess player, and God can give you a purpose related to the game. You can be teacher and God can give you a purpose in the profession, maybe saving pupils from being drug addicts. You can be a doctor who does his job purposefully. You can be a trader and God can give you purpose there, through the way you are conducting your business, being able to bring souls to Christ or being able to serve mankind in such a way that their lives change for the better. You can be a writer, and God wants you to use this talent to uplift others, and not to tear down others.
God wants to use us, the way he designed us. One can be an extrovert (outgoing), and God wants to use this character to reach out to some souls. Don’t pretend to be somebody you are not.
A man of purpose does whatever he is created to do. He is never late to the party, he sacrifices time and resources to make things happen.
Some of you were created to be models in photography, some artists, some business tycoons, some bank specialists, etc. You are strategically put there by God to represent heaven in the specific areas you have a passion for. We are all Ministers of God.
It’s never too late to discover your purpose. You can be going through things now, God is preparing you for your main purpose in life. Learn the lessons in every step God takes you through and become a better individual.
